I was asked to pitch for the coding of this site after the original developers found themselves unable to meet the deadline. After extensive meetings we agreed on a slightly refreshed design with some additional content on LDU's taking a prominant role, I got to work. A very busy two weeks working all ours led to the finished site on time and ready for the ad campaign. And relax. Visit NVDC Dental

StudioKAP had a pretty clear idea of what they wanted so I let them direct the design whilst I advised on usability and the practical integration of design elements. The new site is fully content manageable which allows KAP to update their site news, projects and staff content in minutes. In the first few months, visitor numbers are already up 100%.

"studioKAP architects launched a new website in March 2010 which has been  comprehensively redesigned with Tim Dyer of Sounds like Design. Tim spent 6 months working with us; both critiquing our existing website as well as making proposals for a new site. The process involved extensive discussions and presentations with the three studioKAP directors to both establish the overall ‘look’ for the new site as well as the means of its construction and navigation. Tim’s ability to make proposals as well his willingness to take on board our own ideas and suggestions allowed us to work very effectively together and we think that the compliments that have since been paid to us on its overall design are very much down to the nature of the working relationship that Tim helped establish. It has been very easy to work creatively with Tim as his overall manner is calm, encouraging and professional. We have no hesitation in recommending him to other companies."

The complete build from no design to content management system (CMS) website. David gave me free rein on the initial design and with only a few changes we were both happy with the result. Using Django, the open source web development framework, allows David to update his future credits at any time from any computer. Visit David Lees site

This little analogue recording studio is tucked away in Argyle Court, Glasgow and opened to allow musicians to record to tape. As a CIC, the studio also runs education and training programmes inviting young people to learn all about the recording process. They wanted their site to be found in a google search for "analogue recording glasgow" which, coming top (5th November 2009) isnae bad..

A complete design including logo and colour schemes. When Chris Campion asked me to build him a website for his holiday let company he gave me a photograph of the Edinburgh skyline as a starting point. The design progressed from there through various versions before we agreed on this one. A neat JavaScript carousel brings the browsing experience to life.

When Tickles the Clown found Trouble the Clown a dynamic duo was born and the ultimate children's party organisers got busy with marketing their entertainment services. I was approached to provide a website that would fit with their existing brand; the artwork, by a friend of the clowns, was already being used on printed material. The JavaScript on the expanding scroll maintains the sense of fun and bright simplicity. Visit Tickles and Trouble

Susan Irvine wanted to give her business a boost and through a chance meeting with a friend of mine came to Sounds Like Design for a website. The design was inspired by the fantastic Japanese artist Hiroshige and in particular his work "The Plum Garden in Kameido". Combining rich reds and soft pastel greens with a simple sketch of a plum tree resulted in this vibrant and warm design. The logo with halos was an extension of an earlier Angel design. Susan herself came up with the leaf for the menu buttons. Visit Heal Body and Soul

Grant and I were working on a TV commercial when we got chatting about websites. He had bought his domain name and had given page building a go but needed some help. A week later I sent him some preliminary designs from which he picked this. His requirements were a simple, clean but modern and funky look which would present information as the top priority. A fully accessible website using the wonderful background-image property to maintain a cool look.
